Do Unto Others 20"h x 24"w

I can remember the feeling I felt when I first heard music like really heard it. When I was able to separate the art from the craft and really let it take me away. I've been chasing that high ever since. Trying to find that soul in anything creative. Trying to put as much of that into my own work. I found a little bit of it in this piece. She has a glimpse something I've been looking for. Maybe I created her but she took on a life of her own. This piece is special.  This is one of those things that I don't know how to describe in words so the painting has to speak for itself and maybe someone else will get the message.

Will I be Lactose Intolerant In Heaven 40"h x 30"w

"If I am to sign up for this christian thing, I'm going to need to be promised painless ice cream in Heaven seeing as I cannot have it here on earth? I'm going to need someone to put that in writing". This came from a conversation I had while working for a church.

Jezebel 60"h x 48"w

2 Kings 9:30-37

30And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and arranged her hair, and looked out at a window.31And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?32And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.33And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.34And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.35And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.36Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:37And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

this painting is my depiction of Jezebel at the moment she was last recognizable before being eaten by the dogs. "she painted her face, and arranged her hair, and looked out at a window." -a heart, hardened against God, will brave it out to the last-

Go To Church and Fear God and Terrorists 60"h x 48"w

This large painting comes from a very recent and ongoing struggle between my internal and external religious conflict. Torn between what's considered orthodox and so called "liberal spirituality". This comes directly from the evil that is fear mongering in the church and society today. I don't support this trend of speed dealing ugliness and fear for the ultimate financial gain of your churches.

Freezer Sleepover 40"h x 24"w

This painting was inspired by something I had going on at the time. To be honest, I don't even remember what it was because the fact that my friend Heather entitled it the random "freezer sleepover" it took on a whole new life. I'm attached to this piece in a different way now that she's placed a new name on it.  It's origin was dark but now this piece makes me feel ironically warm.

Bjork Isn't My Girlfriend 16"h x 20"w

This is a humorous depiction of the reaction of such bad news as the fact that Bjork is indeed not your girlfriend. This painting was inspired by friend, Ross Anderson.

the difference between flirting and commitment 30"h x 24"w

This painting was inspired by a time in my life where I felt I was more committed to a relationship than my counterpart.  It's sort of speaks about when you take that step forward with someone but they don't. Not only do you get burned but you continue to get burned because you committed to the lighter. In this painting, she is in that perpetual state of love and agony because it is one sided.
